I bet a lot of you out there relate to this scenario - it's an intense one indeed. It makes the thought of driving out to the nearest cafe or restaurant very cumbersome, and sometimes the fridge and pantry ain't good enough to satisfy that utmost specific craving. Like a few nights ago how I started craving Thai food. Hadn't eaten it for about 2 months now, I was definitely craving. And exam period feels just made those cravings increase oh so exponentially.

Cravingssssssssssss |
So I had a small e-interview with Josh, the lovely guy from Menulog, to tell us, what really is Menulog?
--*--
Tina: Hello Josh, so could you tell me, what really is Menulog, and what is Menulog's philosophy?Josh: Once upon a time, life was hard. People came home from work and slaved over hot stoves to feed fussy children. They battled the elements (and one another) to get to the supermarket before it ran out of milk. They lived on baked beans and burnt toast. Menulog heard Australia’s cries of “Can’t someone else do it!?” and stepped up to the plate. Our philosophy is that life should always be easy and delicious, which is why we’ve worked so hard to become no. 1 for online takeaway in Australia.

Josh: Menulog’s got over 3,500 restaurants and they stretch right across the country. We’ve got an especially huge presence in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth and an ever-growing fleet of partners in smaller cities and towns throughout Australia. They cover pretty much every cuisine you can imagine – from Aussie takeaway favourites like Chinese and pizza to up-and-comers like Nepalese and Cambodian. The whole point of the Menulog service is that it’s portable and flexible.
Tina: 3,500 restaurants...well that definitely makes sense to me now as I see the green chef's hat logo stuck on shop windows everywhere! Hmm, and what would you say are the best 3 things about Menulog.
Josh: To start, I think 1. the fact we work with over 3,500 restaurants is one of the three best things about Menulog, because you're guaranteed to find something to please everyone with our massive range of choices. 2. We let you order anywhere, any time. All you need is an appetite and internet access. Place your order ahead of time for parties and functions (feel free to pass the cooking off as your own – we won’t tell). 3. You can save money with thousands of discounts and unique special offers. Enjoy rewards for loyalty to your favourite restaurants. Spend the extra dollars you save on essentials like garlic bread and chocolate mousse.

This delivery service is great for the small neighbourhood restaurants that may not necessarily have their own website or social media plugs, and it's always much harder if customers don't have access to a menu, as they do with Domino's and Crust Pizza - as pizza's not always what we want as takeaway delivery food.So if you're craving Thai like I did, then you should look at the range of Thai joints in your local area - you'll be surprised how good food does come local, too!
Last time I used their website, so this time I tried out their app.
I blurred out my residential suburb, but yes, type in the postcode you want, and you'll get a list of restaurants that are nearby.
Fionix Thai food, and I've submitted a review of this food onto Menulog - so that others can benefit from reading past experiences too :)
Also, during my mini study breaks, I've gone on my phone to vote for my favourite restaurants and entered Menulog's Tasty Takeaway Awards draw to win $10,000. So they said I could vote as many times as I wanted...and so I voted for Maya Tandoori (Surry Hills) more than 10 times, It's Time for Thai (Kingsford) about 5 times, Newtown Thai, How About Juice (Surry Hills), Let's hope my chances are high!
The competition closed on the 30th June, but not to worry, it's an annual competition, and they have a few others throughout the year as well.
And... now exam season has just ended for me, so I'm here to celebrate by holding a $20 voucher giveaway for a lucky reader to use on your next Menulog purchase! Most of the restaurants you'll find on the website will have a 10% off first order, so you'll be saving even more!
a Rafflecopter giveaway
And even better, a whole host of blogs have been and are running the $20 voucher competition, courtesy of Menulog, meaning you'll have more of a chance of winning!
See you all soon at my next blogpost!
Update: The winner is Jocelyn R, an email and voucher has been sent to her.
Disclaimer: foodfortina paid for her Fionix Thai meal in entirety. Opinions towards Menulog online takeaway service are her own. $20 voucher for winner is provided by Menulog.
