Deux Peres - Surry Hills

So after the plan to get my teachers Gelato Messina Darlinghurst icecream cakes sorta failed, I wanted to find a place that's close to school, that sells lovely cakes and pastries.  Hearing about this place about two months ago caught my fancy; a lovely patisserie selling $2.50 macarons, on Elizabeth St, on the way to high school, so it was very convenient for me to come here.  The opening hours of Gelato Messina (12pm at Darlinghurst) meant I'd have to wait until after my exam finished before I could travel there, and then back to school, so Deux Peres was definitely the better option.

The size of the macarons are smaller than Zumbo's, Lindt's and Guylian's, but the special teacher I gave these to said they were very delicious :)

Having already given Mr Stokes macarons as a class present for his birthday, I wanted to find a nice cake for him.  Unfortunately they don't have a large range of cakes, so I chose this 'acidule framboise' cake.  I think the cake was $6.50.
