How has your 2013 started? Hopefully all has gone well, happy and warm gatherings with family and friends to welcome the new year. It really is an exciting time of the year, when we're hyped up with the beautiful fireworks and a rush of New Year's resolutions come to mind. I personally have never set myself any resolutions, because goals and such can be created anytime throughout the year, and I've had heaps of those going on for a while.
Apologies for my recent hiatus from the bloggerverse, I've been spending lots of time offline with friends and family.
The end of 2012 has definitely been a blast for my friends and I. After the exam block finished, there came the Boys' and Girls' formals, followed by a lovely wedding that was also held where we had our Girls' formal. The morning after, a group of friends and I embarked on a trip to Coffs Harbour, and while they stayed for about a week. Having been my first legitimate trip to a place outside of Sydney, besides those school camps and overseas trips to Vietnam with the family, this was such a fun trip, that I'll be blogging about very soon :)
The Boy and I could only stay for four days because we had scholarship interviews awaiting us back at Sydney, on the afternoon of our arrival back at home. After that, we treated ourselves to Skyfall, which premiered that morning, so we were quite excited, and I was glad the movie lived up to The Boy's expectation - having that Joker-esque twist and all.
And speaking of The Joker, The Boy's 18th was a few days after that and I baked him a Batman cake, which I promise to post about very soon - I've actually been working on that post for a few weeks now, and I'm really excited to share my cake-baking journey with you!
Haha, yes, he had two birthday cakes, both of which I supplied. This one was for sharing; it's the Black Forest Torte from The Cheesecake Shop.
Then came my 12 Week Food Tour :) I love it when my friends get excited about joining the Food Tour with me, this support is the reason why I'm continuing with it through the 3 months :)
I have about 7 places still waiting to be blogged about, I'm very sorry about the delay - I guess I've just been having too much fun offline and out with friends, and finding jobs and other such things that post-HSC peeps do. And watching Castle. My friends Nicky and Abhi got me hooked onto watching this amazing TV show - I'm currently halfway through season 2, can't wait to finish it by the end of this week!
I've also been out a lot, mainly reunions with various groups - family gatherings, outings to the beach, karaoke and hiking and such. A group of friends and I celebrated the end of the world on the 21st Dec by jumping off rocks into picturesque lakes, and getting a massage from a 4m waterfall :)
Yep. That's the 4m waterfall. It's actually huge when you're standing under it, and mannn, trying to balance on that slippery moss was damn hard to do, but it was definitely heaps fun! Credits to CC who took this pic, it's featured in her blog Lights Guiding as well :)
To wrap up 2012, I've gotten the marks I needed for the course I love, I've received a few monetary offers from the uni of my choice, so it's all going as planned, and I'm really excited for this year - the new world of uni with my friends and I, and seeing where my food journeys take me next. There'll be more chances for dining out, and definitely more opportunities to record more covers for my YouTube channel. I've been investing my 2012 time into foodblogging, but I hope to get my channel back on track in this new year :)
So although I haven't really made any New Year's resolutions before, this year I'd like to see myself:
- grasping opportunities that come my way, and never being afraid or shy to try something new
- making more food memories, as well as recording more covers
- making the most of my time in 1st year uni, joining different clubs and societies and making good use
- maintain a healthy weight for majority of the year with lots of exercise, despite my love for food.
- venture into the realm of cooking!! I've been baking most of the time I'm in the kitchen, so a little cooking know-how would be great!

Congratulations on getting in the course that was you've wanted! All your hard work has paid off :) Goodluck with any scholarships you've applied for and it sounds like you're starting off 2013 with a bang. Here's to an awesome year ahead!!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year! Congratulations on your achievements this year, and all the best for an amazing 2013! :)
